DTTM believes
in the importance of giving its students extensive practical exposure
alongside invaluable academic know-how to ensure their holistic development. Engagement with field practice forms an integral
component of MBA (TTM) curriculum and students spend a total of about 07 days on
natural/cultural-heritage/rural settings. TILDC is carefully organized,
starting with ground level practicums that attempt to connect classroom
learning with practical situations, followed by a field immersion where students
spend 07 days in a field setting, often living with the destination communities and
getting an on the ground experience. TILDC will
help students to understand various aspects of the Destination Management
practices, Destination Resources and Attributes, Community Participation in
tourism development, Pro-Poor Tourism (PPT) initiatives, Leadership
Attributes, Team Work, Basics of Adventure Sports and Sustainable Development
(SD) etc at grassroot level. The TILDC could include visit to adventure tourism
destinations, rural tourism sites, ecotourism sites, tribal areas, national
parks, cultural and heritage attractions, recreational attractions, NGOs,
upcoming tourism projects etc across various states of India. It
also involves Small Practicum Project (SPP) where students reflect their
imagination and knowledge about the ground level learning and experiences.
